How to fix the Delete key in Terminal.app

At some point in 10.4 the delete key in terminal started acting as a forward delete. This became apparent when using nano, for example. Well, I figured out how to fix it.

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. From the Terminal menu, select Window Settings.
  3. In the Terminal Inspector panel, select Keyboard from the popup menu.
  4. Check Delete key sends backspace.
  5. Select the Use Settings as Defaults button.

I registered to vote today

Today I registered to vote. I thought it would be difficult, but it was as simple as filling out the California On-line Voter Registration page.

I even got set up as a permanent absentee voter, so if I’m understanding this correctly I should receive ballots in the mail automatically with return postage already set to go; all I’ll need to do is fill out the form and put it back in my USPS mailbox.

I’m very excited to be able to vote in this next election. I missed last year’s, sadly, however I won’t let that happen again.

Nineteen

It looks like my birthday is coming up soon. It will be the only day in my life where my age will be the same as the day of my birthday, so my girlfriend observes.

School is going okay, though I really do need to start studying more as finals draw near.

Work’s fine as usual.

And my girlfriend? She’s awesome!
