It seems everytime I invite others to a shared Google Document or Spreadsheet (which is an awesome solution, I might add), I always get back that people don’t want to sign in using their normal email address, but their obscure unused GMail address. This leads me to believe that one of the following things is happening:
- People assume that a Google Account must be their GMail account, which is untrue.
- People already have their Google Account set up using their GMail account, even though they otherwise would not use the acutal GMail email addresses associated with it.
- People can not mentally comprehend the conceptual difference between a GMail account and a Google Account, the former being merely a subset of the latter. This could be due to lack of formal or informal education, a lack of brain cells due to excessive alcoholic consumption, or both.
