I finally got my Yahoo! ID back after not being able to log into it for over a year. Turns out when I got DSL at my old residence a year ago, it changed my password for my Yahoo! ID to the same password as the one used for the SBC. Furthermore, it permanently linked the SBC account to the Yahoo! ID. A similar thing occurred with my second Yahoo! ID and the SBC account for my new address.
They say that once an SBC account is linked to a Yahoo! ID, it is permanent and irrevocable. This is similar to the Xbox Live Gamertag to Passport ID linkage I’ve discussed before. While these linking abilities are cool, they should not be irrevocable as described. Now both my Yahoo! IDs are ruined with all the crap SBC has linked to it, permanently forever more.
This really, really sucks.
