Permanant Linkage Sucks

When I set up my SBC DSL, I accidently linked it to my Yahoo! ID. Now they share the same password, and I have no way of unlinking them from each other.

I am going to the Xbox 360: Zero Hour event next week and as such need to link my Xbox Live Gamertag to my Passport ID, however when I tried to do that I accidently created a new online Gamertag (not an Xbox Live account) and now can not undo the process or link my actual Xbox Live Gamertag to my Passport ID. After talking with Microsoft about this, all they can suggest is that I get a new email address and set up a new Passport ID.

While I do believe account linking systems and account merging systems are nice, I can not tolerate the position they put one in when one accidently links two things they did not intend to link to each other by preventing one from being able to undo this linkage.

It unnerves me to no end, and I shall get no sleep over it now. How pathetic a system to not implement such simple things as being able to undo or change something such as this? All systems should be flexible enough for things of this nature to be changed. Nothing should be permanent, nothing should be set in stone like this.

Aggh!
