I’ve gone through my first week of this quarter at school. I’m currently taking Elementary Accounting, Advanced English Writing, Statistics, and Macroeconomics, for a total of 18 quarter-units. Add that to a 30-hour work week and a 15-hour total weekly commute (public transportation’s little secret), and you can tell I’ve got it coming to me that I’d end up with sleep deprivation and a shattered imune system. As of this writing my voice is still shot, and anything louder than a whisper fails to function.
Something’s ‘gotta give:
- Lighten my academic workload (drop a class or three)
- Lighten my career workload (lower my hours)
- Get a car (eliminate public transportation)
The first one would delay my estimated graduation out yet another semester, and the latter two would in essense cause my financial demise. Unless I am able to obtain external financial support, my only choice will have to be the ligtening of my academic workload and forego the aformentioned aspect of my academic goals.
But I must do something about this, and soon; for the sake of my health and well being.
